Hi! I’m Jia van Thiel — a creative and hands-on professional with a versatile background in both design and hospitality. My varied work and educational experience enables me to tackle challenges across a wide range of fields. While I may come across as a bit shy at first, I’m social, friendly, and value building strong and reliable work relationships. I believe deeply in continuous growth and development and enjoy challenging myself in everything I do.
As a freelance DTP’er at Recreatief Design, I focus on shaping visual identities that tell a story. I work on branding, house styles, print materials, and packaging — from concept to final design. I love the challenge of turning a rough idea into a strong visual message and enjoy collaborating with clients to bring their brand to life in a creative and consistent way.
Since 2021, I’ve had a versatile role at Haddock Watersport. From managing the front office and bookkeeping to coordinating events and mentoring interns, I’ve gained experience across the board. I thrive in a fast-paced setting, and enjoy organizing, problem-solving, and working closely with the team to keep operations running smoothly — all while keeping an eye on hospitality and quality.
Currently studying Communication, where I focus on strategy, media, branding, and content creation. This education strengthens both my creative and analytical skills and complements my work in design and marketing.
Completed my HAVO diploma here. Luzac gave me a solid academic foundation and taught me to work independently and take responsibility — skills I still rely on every day.
